About the Designer
My name is Jami Van Brocklin. I am a recent college grad from Butler Community College, in Kansas. I completed my Associates Degree in Digital Media on December 14, 2007. My focuses in school were Web site Design & Graphic Art. I also took classes in 3-D Computer Animation.
I was an Enhanced Member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society, Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter. I was nominated for and chosen as Butler Community College's Phi Theta Kappa Outstanding Member of 2007. I received this honor due to my involvement in activities and also for creating and founding a project called "Operation Return the Favor." This project was created to help gather necessities for the soldiers who would be returning to the barracks after being deployed to Iraq. We have so far helped 4 units based at Fort Riley, Kansas. This project has also been put into place to help McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. For my efforts with this project and also volunteering with the Soldier and Family Assistance Center for the Wounded Warrior Transition Battalion, I also received recognitions for being chosen as 1st Sustainment Brigade's "Volunteer of the Year for 2007" and "Volunteer of the 1st Quarter of 2008" (Ft. Riley, Kansas).
I am married to a wonderful man named Jon. He and his brother are both soldiers in the U.S. Army. We have one beautiful and inquisitive 6 yr. old daughter.
I also graduated in Dec. 2003, from Gadsden State Community College in Anniston, Alabama, in the Licensed Practical Nursing program. I was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the states of Alabama and Kansas for nearly 4 years. I worked in jails, nursing homes, and home health care. I gave up nursing because it is not family-oriented by far. I loved being a nurse though.
I graduated from high school in May 1997, from Ohatchee High School in Ohatchee, Alabama, however, the majority of my high school years were spent at Cleburne County (aka Heflin) High School in Heflin, Alabama. My elementary school years were spent in Riverside, California, where I am originally from!
My long-term career goals are to eventually go back to school in a few years to work towards my Bachelors Degree and specialize in 3-D Computer Animation geared towards Forensics. I want to utilize 3-D Computer Animation technology to recreate crime scenes and to do age-progression imagery. I plan to work in web design and graphic art while pursuing my Bachelors Degree.
